Tea Tree is the classic antiseptic essential oil, with a camphoraceous and medicinal aroma. It is a wonderful spot treatment for breakouts, and I recommend Tea Tree in a carrier oil for all of my clients after waxing services- to help reduce the little red bumps and guard against infected follicles. It is calming for the skin.

Tea tree can be applied in small amounts directly to a small pimple, however do not use it to massage over open skin. When used in a room diffuser or spray Tea Tree is highly antiseptic and cleans surfaces as well as the air.

Like most essential oils Tea tree works well with a warm moist compress and a carrier oil. Do not use it undiluted for more than 7 days, and discontinue use if it causes irritation.
