Ravensara Essential Oil
Ravensara Essential Oil
Ravensara is a more aromatic alternative to Tea Tree oil which often bothers sensitive noses. It is herbal and clean, with spicy and medicinal undertones. The initial impression is almost a citrusy floral aroma.
Like Tea Tree, Ravensara kills bacteria, viruses, and fungi. It is a necessity for the cold season medicine chest, and I use it along with Eucalyptus radiata, Eucalyptus smithii, and Lavender to ward off bugs and break up nasal congestion. If used in a diffuser it cleans the air.
It is also wonderful for muscular fatigue and pain especially if used in massage.
Ravensara is excellent sprinkled on a tissue or a shirt sleeve for inhalation. It can also be blended with a carrier oil for massage (15 drops per ounce of oil), or used with a warm moist compress especially to the chest. Because it is an excellent treatment for stuffy noses a few drops can be used in the bath.
