Rose Otto, or Rose Essential Oil is produced by steam distillation of the flowers. It is different chemically from Rose absolute, which is a solvent extract and somewhat less expensive. In order to make ONE pound of Rose essential oil it requires 2,000 pounds of fresh Rose petals! This makes Rose one of the most expensive essential oils on the market. It is sought after for use in Aromatherapy as well as perfumery.

Rose is prized for skincare formulation that are anti aging, and in those for mature and sensitive skin. It is also one of the most effective essential oils for comforting psycho-emotional distress such as shock, grief, heartbreak, anger, and depression. Rose has numerous cultural associations that add to its strength for aromatherapy and the scent of Rose is often associated with positive emotions. For healing emotional stress Rose is best included in very small amounts in blends for massage or in a natural roll on that can be used throughout the day.

I offer Rose in two forms:

The first is 100% pure Rose in a 5ml size

The second is 10% Rose Otto in organic jojoba oil to offer an effective but more affordable option.

Beware of imitation Rose oil. Like any expensive oil it is commonly adulterated and for this reason if it is not costly then it cannot be pure. There is no way around the very expensive production method that would yield a "cheap but pure" alternative.
